Turn to the next Paige

You people always wonder why Paige and I never worked out; well...she was crazy.

At first, I was shocked then I kinda snickered to myself...because it actually is kinda true. He's right. But when you deal with someone who constantly acts like, what I can only compare to, Michael Keaton's "Four" clone from the move Multiplicity....then I think you can all understand.

Update

Thanks for the thoughts for my cousin. He has been released and is doing alright as of now. So thumbs up!!

The weekend before last, I was asked to be the mc for the comedian Bill Engvall (might have seen him on Comedy Central, CMT, HBO...a great comedian in my opinion) at the Civic Auditorium. The auditorium was packed and once I walked on stage...I was strangely calm. Andy was backstage nervous and stuff. I thought that was adorable since I questioned WHY he was nervous. His reply was an even more adorable "cause I kept thinking thats my baby out there while I snapped pictures of you in front of all these people."

Cute.

This weekend I went with my mother who is helping a friend start off another home shopping network. She has no intention of keeping up with this since our business and she really doesn't want to go back to TV. She was a host for 7 years and got incredibly burned out and decided she needed a change a few years back.

Anywho, this was interesting since I was in front of MILLIONS and talking like I was a veteran. I started to think that this is strange since I talk on radio in front of thousands every week and still get little butterflies right before I go on...but on TV...not so much. I remember a few months ago my boss actually asked if I had ever considered tv. Not...really. Well, maybe I have (because I was practically raised around it) but I don't have a passion for news. It would have to be something I really enjoy. Some have said the backhanded compliment "Wow, you really don't have a face for radio."

I don't take that complimentary as some other people might...thats just me. Sure it's nice to hear you are attractive but I'd like to think I'm worth more than that. I would rather hear costructive criticism or praise on my voice and technique than to get by on a wink.

Enough of my female rights blog...onto the fun stuff. I finished our Christmas tree. The Grinch tree is up at Andy's and I am beyond proud. When I get a chance, I will post a picture because it rocks my world. I did Seuss very proud.

Also, countdown begins...4 months. From here on out it is chaos since the holidays then the first of my estimated 8 showers begin. Yes, as of now we have 8 showers. This is going to be insane!!

Prayer Request

I'm asking for you guys to keep my cousin in your thoughts and prayers. Over the weekend, he came home and complained of some really bad head pains. After a while, he ended up passing out and having seizures. He was unconscious for quite some time. He was rushed to children's hospital and I can vouch that his status was scary. I actually went back to see him and talk to him and the sight of him not being able to speak, spontaneously shivering, and rolling his eyes was quite horrific.

Turns out he has two blood clots on his brain and one on his brain stem. As of now, he is fully conscious but he is being transferred to university hospital for more tests. He is literally a walking miracle...at 13 years old. The doctors told him that if this had happened to someone older...they would not be alive. There are still some open possibilities to what may have triggered these problems but nothing is conclusive.

Please keep him mind since he has a long way to go before he can be fully well.

My Man!!

Go see American Gangster and you will understand why I am saying "my man" all the time. The movie is pretty raw and intense and is definitely not for younger eyes...but it solidifies why Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors this generation will EVER see. Crowe is pretty strong...I can predict Oscar nods for these two fellas.

Oh...and I just saw Apollo 13 for the first time over the weekend...I know...you don't have to say it.

Um...it's the final countdown til wedding day!! Five months!! My dress finally came in. I am picking it up this afternoon and I am pumped beyond imagination. I ordered it back in the summer and it has finally arrived! My dress was the easiest decision I have ever made in my life. It was the first dress I saw online, the first dress I picked out and the first dress I tried on. I looked at my mom and said "Well, that was easy." It is just...so me. An elegant throwback to glamorous "Old Hollywood."

I don't know if I ever mentioned our final decision for our Honeymoon. Have I?? Well anyways, Andy's parents decided our big wedding gift from them would be our choice of Honeymoon. We finally decided on 10 days in Hawaii. We both haven't been and find it to be the best bet. I can't wait. Andy and I eat tons of sushi and we are looking forward to the fresh food in Hawaii.

The wedding cake tasting was a huge success....we couldn't decide on the flavor so we are using all of them. Every layer of my wedding cake is going to be a different flavor. From red velvet to creme brulee...it has all my favorites. And of course, the groom's cake is going to be quite spectacular. Fox Den knows how to do it right...I am pumped for the food tasting.

OH gosh!! I'm excited!!
